AI-Whys: Deep Learning and Reinforcement Learning, Distilled and Open-Sourced
October 10, 2026 · Intelligence Theory · 2 min read
Are you an undergraduate who wants to systematically learn AI algorithms from the ground up, but doesn’t know where to start? Are you an incoming graduate student who wants to systematically review AI algorithm fundamentals before enrollment, paving the road for future research? Are you already a graduate student who sometimes forgets a detail of some algorithm and wishes for a concise electronic handbook? AI-Whys is open-sourced!
AI-Whys is a distilled learning path for deep learning and reinforcement learning that I spent one month putting together; the repository currently contains 38 experiments. Every algorithm includes: 1. concise yet detailed mathematical derivations; 2. Excalidraw-style illustrations that aid memory; 3. bottom-up reproduction code.
